There’s something especially valuable about stepping outside of real wedding timelines and expectations to create purely for the sake of inspiration. This styled shoot at Hillside Farms Tenino gave our team the opportunity to explore a whimsical spring wedding design in a way that felt playful and creative.
With Nadene and Nick as our models, we leaned into a soft spring whimsical aesthetic: light, romantic, and full of thoughtful details that feel both fresh and timeless.

Hillside Farms Tenino is one of those venues that naturally lends itself to multiple design directions, but it truly shines when paired with something soft and organic. For this design, we used the venue’s lush greenery, lavender fields, and arbor as the foundation. The setting already feels romantic, so the goal was to enhance it, not compete with it. The result was a whimsical spring wedding look that felt effortless and dreamy.
Garden Party Details with a Whimsical Twist
The tabletop design by American Party Place set the tone immediately. We layered Contessa china with a green Eleanor accent plate, ivory satin linens, and a sage Sahara runner for a soft, flowy accent. Lavender satin napkins added a subtle pop of color, while brushed gold Arezzo flatware and mixed brass candlesticks brought warmth and dimension. Pink Carousel goblets and sage Debutante goblets added just enough personality to keep the design feeling playful.
To push the whimsical element a bit further, the design team—helmed by PNW Creative and Curated Moments Events and assisted by Coalescence Event Services and Topaz & Pearl Weddings and Events (aka yours truly!)—incorporated unexpected details like grapes and blueberries artfully scattered across the table and small porcelain statuettes tucked throughout the tablescape. These touches made the entire setup feel fanciful and storybook-like.
Floral Design That Feels Light and Cheerful
Florals by Specialty Floral Design were a defining element of this whimsical spring wedding concept. The arrangements featured white Queen Anne’s lace, Mondial and Tibet roses, lavender scabiosa, butterfly ranunculus, and blue agapanthus. The combination felt airy and cheerful, with just enough movement to complement the natural surroundings at Hillside Farms Tenino. The florals enhanced the relaxed, garden-inspired aesthetic beautifully.
Fashion That Completes the Look
Nadene’s look, styled by Weddings With Joy, featured a romantic floral lace gown perfectly suited to the setting. Her beauty look by Casa Blanca Salon and Makeup By Nikki leaned into natural glam, with softly flowing curls and an emphasis on her natural features. Nick’s tan suit brought a light, spring-ready balance to the overall look, keeping the styling cohesive without feeling overly formal.
Sweet Details and Finishing Touches
Macarons from Wanderlust Cupcake Co. added a soft, colorful element to the tablescape, while stationery from Olympic Place tied everything together with a refined, cohesive design.
Before guests ever arrive at a real wedding, these are the moments I enjoy the most: when I can see the vision coming together as everything is styled and set. During the shoot, when tweaks were needed, our team adjusted place settings, refined tabletop details, and made sure every element felt aligned with the overall vision.
